Wisconsin Tourism:
Flaunt the summer-time beauty of northern Wisconsin and promote tourism with vigor.
The summer beauty of northern Wisconsin does not need elaboration. However, the government has failed to aggressively develop and advance tourism. Other states have done a much better job of promoting tourism via television commercials, for example Michigan and Florida, but Wisconsin is wanting in this regard. Development has to be strategic, such that it does not erode the natural beauty and landscape. Our prime tourist attractions have to be thoughtfully developed, our prime locales such as Wisconsin Dells and Door county well advertized, and Wisconsin tourism forcefully promoted.
Increased tourist traffic will further drive our economy, improve the State’s tax revenue, and more importantly, out-of-state visitors will bring in an influx of dollars. The advantages are at multiple fronts- people will drive through our roads, stop at gas stations, benefit small businesses, or fly into our airports and ultimately spend money at our tourist locations.
As governor, I will make promotion of Wisconsin tourism a key facet of my agenda.
